Johannes Amorosa

Johannes has been studying media art at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne, Germany, since 2005.

His current body of work is comprised of video art, 3D animation and conceptual intervention. Central to his art work is the underlying theme of hope/expectation arising in an era of rapid technological advancement and the impossibility of satisfying its yearning. Everyday experience and its translation into new media are collaged by means of video and 3D-processes.

Prior to his enrollment at the academy, Johannes was an active member in the freetekno movement and affiliated currents in Munich, exploring the artistic possibilities of electronic music and experimenting with computer-based compositional techniques – essential to his later approach in audio-visual new media.

Johannes currently lives and works in Cologne.
