johannes amorosa

Welcome to, the online repository of the cologne based media artist johannes amorosa.

We're happy to announce: Johannes is exhibiting his new work "Untitled" (2012/ working title: Diorama) at the Halle der vollständigen Wahrheit, Ebertplatz, Cologne.

Vernissage: Thursday 12. July 2012, 20:00
Show: 12. - 14. July 2012. Starting at 20:00

"Untitled” is the cinematic attempt to deconstruct reality contents in the filmed image through a multi-channel projection on five high-definition beamers. In doing so the work alternates between the visual language and narrative strategies of classical cinema, the episodic film and the video art.
A study of the nostalgia-laden claim to objectivity and the dilemma of accurate depiction vs. detailed staging of the real, the precariousness of common technologies of representation, the fetishism of the photographic image, desire, control over time, the medium and the conventional strategies of filmic representation.
